2010-11 High Priorities Occupations List Released
The PA Department of Labor and Industry has released the 2010 statewide High Priority Occupation (HPO) list. An HPO is a job category that is in demand by employers, has higher skill needs, and is likely to provide family-sustaining wages.
Here is a list of the occupations which are newly recognized HPOs for the next five years:
- Sheet Metal Workers
- Landscaping (the job codes included green jobs)
- Education Administrators, Post Secondary
- Electro-Mechanical Technicians
- Painters, Construction & Maintenance
- Bus, truck & Diesel Engine Mechanics
- Automotive Service Technicians & Mechanics
- Electrical & Electronic Equipment Assemblers.
Qualifying workers can apply for Individual Training Accounts (ITAs) to fund training by registered training providers for these occupations.
