Public policy

The Three Rivers Workforce Investment Board influences public policy by identifying, communicating and building consensus around key issues that impact the local labor market. Recent projects include:

Conducting legislative briefings with state legislators representing Allegheny County, along with their staffs, to help them maneuver through the workforce development system at the federal, state, and local levels and access resources available through the TRWIB (see brochure).

"Managing the Changing Workforce in Southwestern Pennsylvania: A Closer Look at Issues Related to Our Region's Aging Workforce," a study examining industries affected by the aging demographics of our region.

"Job Access in the Cranberry Area: Critical Issues Affecting Economic Development and Workforce Development in Southwestern Pennsylvania," a study examining the "spatial mismatch" that separates workers from jobs in this region.
