The five neighborhood CareerLink
Mini-centers have been chartered by the Three
Rivers Workforce Investment Board (TRWIB) and
will provide core CareerLink services to local
job seekers right in their own neighborhoods.
These convenient, easy-to-use
services include access to the CareerLink web
site and job database on the Internet, job matching
capabilities, a knowledgeable work development
specialist on staff to provide personalized assistance
and the ability to provide ancillary services
such as day care and transportation assistance
to job seekers.
Ron Painter, executive director,
Three Rivers Workforce Investment Board, said,
"Customers at the new CareerLinks have been
very pleased by what they’ve seen and what they
can accomplish. Here, job seekers can access our
web site to look for jobs, post their resumes
and be connected with many of the support services
we offer. We initially developed two main sites
and are pleased to begin to extend services to
more local centers. These five are the first of
what we hope will be a complete system of mini-centers
throughout Pittsburgh and Allegheny County."
