occupations continue to be in highest demand with 4,674 postings, followed by Sales and Administrative occupations, with
4,570 and 4,041 postings respectively. Healthcare Practitioner occupations produced the largest over-the-year increase in

After a period of relative stability, the Pittsburgh MSA’s unemployment rate spiked to 7.6% in January. The number of unemployed individuals grew from 80,499 in December to 93,419 in January. Despite the increase in unemployment, the area’s unemployment rate stayed lower than Pennsylvania’s and the nation’s rates ( 8.4% and 8.3% respectively). Learn more.
