With Industry Recognized Training Pipeline (IRTP), PA CareerLink® and local training providers are partnering together to help individuals gain the skills that local employers are looking to hire.
Qualifying individuals can receive a grant to participate in a short-term training that supports one of the following high-priority industries:
- Construction
- Financial Services
- Healthcare
- Information Technology
- Transportation and Logistics

Training Programs Available:
All State Career SchoolClass A CDL Prepatory This Class A CDL Prepatory program guides and prepares students for the Class A Commercial Driver's License Test and helps students find entry-level employment in the transportation industry. |
A. Philip Randolph Institute
This ground-breaking program trains graduates in state-of-the-art training, tools and theory used by the building and construction industry. The skills obtained in the program are in high demand and are transferable to many industries. The core program consists of approved training modules that are industry driven and constantly enhanced by bringing new employers to the table |
Builders Guild of Western PAIntroduction to the Construction Trades This pre-apprenticeship program facilitates career exploration and exposure to construction trades through a combination of hands-on activities, individual counseling, and visits to training sites, leading to application for a registered apprenticeship. |
Energy Innovation CenterBankWork$® BankWork$® helps adults from low-income communities or barriers to employment build meaningful careers in banking, through a free, eight-week career training, placement assistance, and ongoing coaching. |
Fortyx80IT Registered Apprenticeships Fortyx80 intends to bridge the gap between this untapped pool of talent and employers’ need for a highly skilled workforce through establishment of Apprenti PGH – Pittsburgh’s IT apprenticeship program. Working with local employers and a variety of training partners Fortyx80 will train participants in the skills and knowledge needed in the job market today. |
Per ScholasEnd User Desktop Support, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity Per Scholas, believes that a thriving workforce starts with equitable access to education. Per Scholas provides skills training and access to employer networks to individuals often excluded from tech careers. Per Scholas envisions a technology workforce as diverse as the customers it serves. This training provider has offerings in IT Support, software engineering, and cyber-security. |
Tech ElevatorJava or .NET Web Application Development Bootcamp Tech Elevator offers a full-time coding boot camp that teaches programming in Java and .NET. Individuals from the community with little to no programming experience develop skills needed to become junior developers by the end of the program. |
UPMC - Center for High-Value HealthcareFreedom House 2.0 This training focuses on traditional emergency medical services (EMS) and on equipping first responders to help address critical, non-emergency psychosocial needs that comprise a significant portion of 911 calls.. Successful graduates will be guaranteed an interview with UPMC and other job placement support. |
